Transcripts: Common App
Many students are now utilizing the Common App to apply to colleges. For more information on the Common App and its services, please visit the Common App website.
To have MDHSA upload an official transcript to a student’s Common App account, please follow the steps below:
NOTE: MDHSA is considered a “Counselor,” based on the Common App Recommender definitions. Since MDHSA is a homeschool organization, the School Report will be completed to the best of the Staff’s ability and will not contain the information that a public/private high school would typically have on file. The MDHSA Staff will not write personal letters of recommendation for any student.
COMMON APP TRANSCRIPT REQUEST INFORMATION:
- Transcripts that are to be uploaded to the Common App will be processed within 3-5 business days after the Transcript Request, fee, and Recommender Request email have been received. The order will not be processed until all three items have been received by the MDHSA office.
- Uploaded transcripts will include a cover letter from MDHSA and a copy of the recognition letter from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- A Common App Transcript Request is available via ONLINE ORDERING ONLY. Mailed hard Copies of the Transcript Request Form for the Common App will not be processed.
- The fee for a Common App Transcript Request is $10.00 due to the additional time and steps it takes for the Staff to process this type of order.
- If additional copies of the transcript are required, a separate Transcript Request Form and fee must be completed. (This includes mailed, emailed, faxed, and additional Common App transcripts.)
COMMON APP TRANSCRIPT REQUEST INSTRUCTIONS:
- In your (student’s) Common App account, click on the “My Colleges” tab.
- Select a school, and then “College Information.”
- Next, click “Recommenders and FERPA
- Read the FERPA Terms
- Next, invite “Counselor”
- When prompted for the email address, please use diploma@masondixonhomeschoolers.org. (Failure to use this address may result in the Staff not receiving your request.)
COMPLETING THE MDHSA COMMON APP TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM:
- The Common App Transcript Request Form is BELOW. Do not complete a standard Transcript Request Form unless you also need the documents sent separately to a college.
- Complete all required sections of the Student Information portion of the form.
- Submit the Transcript Request Form.
- Complete the payment information and submit the $10.00 payment (PayPal or credit/debit card).
- If you have not already done so, immediately log in to your (student’s) Common App account and send a Recommender Request (see Common App Transcript Request Instructions, above.)
