For example, an objective in math could be, \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continue to improve computation skills<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u201d Objectives are NOT long, specific lists of everything you plan to teach that year. In fact, 1-3 general objectives for each subject will suffice. Furthermore, if the wording is broad enough, objectives do not necessarily have to be changed every year.<br \/>\n<\/span><b>Sample elementary and secondary objectives are available on our\u00a0 <\/b><b style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/masondixonhomeschoolers.org\/home\/free-printable-forms\/\"><span class=\"fontplugin_fontid_4262_Caliban\" style=\"font-size: 22px; color: #800080;\"><strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Free Printable Forms <\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/b><b>page.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the law states that you must submit objectives to your school district, the school district cannot prevent you from homeschooling based on your objectives or require you to meet those objectives. color: #800080;\"><strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\">What subjects does my student need to study?<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Pennsylvania, required subjects are divided by grade levels: elementary (K-6th) and\u00a0 secondary (7th-12th).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"fontplugin_fontid_4262_Caliban\" style=\"font-size: 22px; color: #800080;\"><strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\">At the elementary level (K-6th) the subjects required by law are:<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">English, to include spelling, reading and writing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arithmetic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geography<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">History of the United States and Pennsylvania <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Civics\u00a0 <\/span><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Safety education, including regular and continuous instruction in the dangers \u00a0 and prevention of fires <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Health and physiology <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physical education\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Music <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Art<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that the law only requires that these subjects be taught at the elementary level. <\/span><b><i>It does not specify how often or how long they should be taught for.<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> While some subjects should be taught on a frequent\/daily basis, others can be taught intermittently or woven into other subjects your child is studying.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"fontplugin_fontid_4262_Caliban\" style=\"font-size: 22px; color: #800080;\"><strong><strong style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\">At the secondary level (7th-12th) the subjects required by law are: <\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">English, including Language, Literature, Speech, Composition<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geography <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social Studies, including Civics, World History, History of the United States and Pennsylvania<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathematics, including General Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Art<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Music<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physical Education<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Health<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Safety Education, including regular and continuous instruction in the dangers and prevention of fires<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"fontplugin_fontid_4262_Caliban\" style=\"font-size: 22px;
