New or Renewing Memberships

We’re so glad that you’ve decided to join (or rejoin) MDHSA! We look forward to assisting you in your homeschooling journey.

Before you join, there are a few things you need to know (or review if you’re renewing your membership). Please take a moment to read our Policies in Step 1 and Organizational Statements in Step 2 (next page). If you are a two-parent family, we ask that both spouses read through these before submitting your Membership Application.

STEP 1 – Review Our Policies

  1. Membership dues are non-refundable. The membership year begins June 1 and runs through May 31 of the following year.
    •  A Full Year Membership fee is $45 which includes a monthly newsletter via email.  If you wish to receive the newsletter by mail (in addition to receiving it by e-mail) the membership fee is $55 to cover the additional cost of paper, printing and postage.
A Partial Year Membership fee is $30. Prorated memberships apply to anyone joining between Dec. 1 and March 31. This membership includes a monthly newsletter via email only.
    • Renewing members who are experiencing financial difficulties should contact office@masondixonhomeschoolers.org to see if a payment plan is available.
  2. Grandparents can apply for MDHSA membership under certain conditions. If you are a custodial grandparent or a grandparent supplying full-time homeschooling support, please read our Grandparent Clause policy here to determine how to apply for membership.
  3.  Children’s Photos
No child may be identified in any photo posted on an MDHSA venue without the express written permission of the child’s parent.
You are responsible for the privacy of your children in regards to photos. If you object to your child’s photo being posted on an MDHSA venue, please do not allow your child to participate in any photo opportunities. Otherwise, it will be assumed that you are giving permission for your children’s unidentified photos to be used publicly,  and the photographers and MDHSA are released from any responsibility.
If you do see a photo of your child on an MDHSA  that you want removed, please contact the person who posted the photo.
  4. Newsletters and Co-op Registration Forms are for the exclusive use of MDHSA members  and should not be shared with non-members. Newsletters often contain members’ personal contact information and, therefore, should not be shared with non-members. In addition, co-op participation is a benefit of MDHSA membership. To protect that membership privilege,  registration forms should not be given to non-members.

MDHSA’s policies were created to protect our organization and our members. Therefore, it is important that you agree to abide by our policies so that we can continue to offer these safeguards.
